Hyperrealism Brows

Each client’s skin responds differently to these treatments. This information acts as a guideline only & it HIGHLY recommended to follow for OPTIMAL results!

PRE-CARE:

  • Cease using any skin thinners (Vitamin A, glycolic acids, aha/bha’s, anti aging products, & exfoliation products/creams, facials & laser treatments) on or around the brow/facial area 2 weeks prior to your appointment.

  • Cosmetic Botox or fillers may effect muscle movement & should be done after your microblading procedure(s).

  • DO NOT consume alcohol, caffeine or take any blood thinners (aspirin, ibuprofen, Niacin, fish oil 72 hours before your procedure, this may cause excess bleeding and may affect your results).

  • NO exercising day of procedure. Exercising will cause excess inflammation, bleeding, & heightened sensitivity during procedure.

  • You may come in with how you normally draw on your brows/bring samples of brow shapes you like to the appointment, however your artist has a specific style, please be respectful of her artistry.

  • You may experience hypersensitivity and more pain around or during your menstrual cycle.

  • Cease using brow/lash growth serums 1 month prior, they will stimulate more blood flow to the area and cause excessive bleeding.

  • The artist will not tattoo over any blemishes, sores, moles, dry/flaking, or sun damaged skin in or around the brow area.

  • It is recommended to wash your hair before your appointment to help prevent your brows from getting wet in the shower the next several days(this does NOT mean you cannot wash your hair during the healing process, just helps as a precaution for the fist few days of healing).

AFTERCARE:

Congratulations on your new tattoo! Now you can sit back, relax and do nothing. Seriously.
Our clients get the best, healed results using the 'do nothing' healing method & following the aftercare instructions provided. After care is crucial, it is very important to follow these instructions to ensure proper healing and color retention. Results will vary for all individuals and we can not guarantee your results.

HYPER-REALISM SPECIFICS:

We have had the best results with this simple healing method and it makes it easier for everyone! Due to the gentle nature of this procedure, a 10 day “Dry” healing method is required. Do not apply ANY cosmetics in this area and avoid sweating for AT LEAST 10 days. Keep the area clean, dry and let it breathe!

WHAT TO EXPECT:

  • DO NOT expect your brow tattoos to heal perfectly after the first session. This is a 2 step sometimes multiple step process.

  • Be patient during your 2 week healing process your brows will change and appear different from day to day.

  • Immediately after your procedure brows will appear darker and more sharply defined; this will last up to 10 days. Your brow tattoo can appear more solid, hair strokes may seem to disappear, and this is normal.

  • Around days 6-13 you will experience flaking and your brows may look dry. DO NOT PICK your brows. Let them fall off naturally. If anything gets picked off prematurely, missing hair stokes will result and cause patchy brows.

  • The complete healing process takes about 6 weeks, at which time the true color of the tattoo is evident. During this process, your tattoo will soften and lighten. Be patient, even if you think too much color has been lost, as your skin is still regenerating and naturally exfoliating. Wait at least 6 weeks to see the true color, as it seems to take on new strength, and it is only after 6 weeks that your touch-up/adjustment can be done. You may experience itchiness in the brows after 3 days for up to 2 months due to the healing process of the dermal layer.

  • Not everyone’s hyper-realism hair stoke brows can heal clean and crisp. Hair strokes for oilier skin types tend to heal more solid and powdery while drier skin types tend to heal more crisp and defined.

THINGS NOT TO DO:

  • DO NOT pick at your brows! You WILL flake(this is part of the healing process). Picking may lead to scarring, infection, distortion of pigment/hair strokes.

  • DO NOT sweat for 10 days post treatment.

  • DO NOT go into high sun exposure during the healing process, UV Rays can alter the pigment of your tattoo.

  • DO NOT use cleansers, soaps or any other creams on your brow tattoo for the first 10 days. Specific cleaning instructions for the brows is stated on the aftercare card provided at your appointment.

  • DO NOT run direct water on your brow tattoo. This is especially important in the first few days, you do not want to wash out any pigment.

  • DO NOT use Bepanthen, Vaseline, Neosporin or any petroleum-based products on your tattoo, keep them dry.

  • DO NOT use any makeup, creams, exfoliates on the brows until all flaking is gone.

  • DO NOT thread, wax, or use hair removal creams for 2 weeks.

  • DO NOT go into saunas, pools, and steam rooms for 10 days.

  • DO NOT get massages, facials, or skin treatments for 10 days.

  • DO NOT use exfoliates, retinol acids, or AHA’s on the area for 4 weeks post treatment, it will fade your tattoo prematurely.

  • DO NOT bleach, tint, or dye area for 4 weeks.

  • DO NOT use laser light therapy on your brow tattoo. This can darken, lighten, and distort the pigment and turn it orange.

FOLLOW UP:

  • This is a 2-step process. The First Session is used to build shape, volume, create dimension and establish balance. The Second Session is used to perfect the brows and we can add additional density for realism. This is a process and some clients may need multiple sessions to achieve their desired result.

  • The first Touch Up or Second Session is done within the first 2 months after the First Session.

  • It is your responsibility to book your touch up appointments. With the high demand it usually takes about 2 months to get a touchup appointment so please plan accordingly. If your tattoo comes back too faded additional charges may apply.

  • Darker skin clients, semi-permanent makeup may not look as bold/noticeable compared to lighter skin clients.

  • Some client’s skin may have a harder time retaining pigment and may require additional sessions; especially if you have had your brows previously tattooed elsewhere or it is over scar tissue.

ONCE HEALED/LONG-TERM CARE:

  • There is NO guarantee of results as everyone’s result will vary due to skin type, lifestyle and the initial after care and long-term care of your brow tattoo.

  • Use at least an SPF 50 to protect your brows, sun exposure will cause fading and can alter the color of your tattoo.

  • Exposure to the sun over time will cause fading and discoloration of the pigment. Once completely healed, you may apply sunscreen on the treated area. Wear large sunglasses and a hat for further protection. Gently clean & dry the area thoroughly when in contact with chlorine or salt water. Apply a moisturizer as often as needed to help keep skin supple & the tattoo from fading faster.

  • DO NOT use chemical exfoliates on the brows; this will case the brows to fade faster & possible change color.

  • DO NOT laser your brow area (IPL etc.); some lasers may change the color of the ink.

  • As the tattoo fades the strokes will get fainter and less defined.

  • Maintenance is required to maintain desired results. Touch ups(Refreshers) are recommended every 1-3 years(depending on the individual) to maintain you brow tattoo.

  • Hair stroke brows typically last 1-3 years.

There are no implied or written guarantees if you do not take care of your tattoo.
